Sawmilling South Africa facilitates a number of webinars focused on the use of timber in the built environment. The association works closely its academic partners from the Universities of Stellenbosch and Pretoria as well as the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. The Demand Creation Group which has been formed out of the Forestry Masterplan, has a mandate to promote timber in various sectors. The Talking Timber webinar series aims to cover topical issues relating to the use of timber such as its sustainability, treatment, fire and structural attributes.
