Wood-Mizer Africa’s continent-wide service network ensures that sawmillers, no matter where they process timber, have access to expert support, spare parts, and technical assistance to keep their operations running smoothly.

The company’s national service and support infrastructure covers South Africa’s nine provinces with KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape an important part of the Wood-Mizer’s support service available to its customers.

David Anderson is Wood-Mizer Sales and Service representative for these two provinces with his input driving the company’s success across both fronts.

This photo overview provides first-hand evidence of Dave’s activities 24/7, 365 days a year.

Dave’s enthusiasm, fortitude and know-how ensures that Wood-Mizer’s customers across both provinces can cut without fail, all year long.

The forestry industry in KZN covers approximately 740,000 hectares, which is about 8.2% of the total area of the province.

The forestry and sawmilling sectors in the province have a capital investment of R14 billion, with R10 billion in timber processing and R4 billion in plantations.

The Eastern Cape province in South Africa has a significant commercial forestry sector, with plantations covering approximately 129,334 hectares, representing 10% of the country’s total forestry plantations.

Here the forestry and sawmilling sectors again play a crucial role in the country’s economy, contributing to GDP and providing livelihoods, especially in rural areas.

Dave’s direct support to sawmillers is therefor vital for the well-being of the entire timber sector in both provinces.

His ability to service and support sawmillers in a fast and effective manner keeps the proverbial wheels of sector turning.

It starts like this
A typical day for Dave starts with final order checks, loading stock, and then he’s off to see customers.

In addition to visiting customers on a scheduled daily basis for spare drop-offs and service calls, Dave also uses an ingenious courier-based redistribution system to get consumables to customers without delay.

Dave’s service support hub located in Harding in the south of KwaZulu-Natal is within easy reach of customers in both provinces. His proximity to these markets provides for prompt service and support to sawmillers in both areas.

Dave’s availability day in and day out has rare or no equal amongst rival sawmilling equipment suppliers in South Africa.

This gives sawmillers the necessary assurance to cut without fail and to choose Wood-Mizer when they make their next sawmill purchase.
